Attitudes and Attire: Disadvantaged
women develop confidence in their job search Gaston (who, incidentally, decided to register in Landmark after she saw what a difference it made in her once-crabby and hard-to-deal-with boss), teamed up with another woman to work on a job training program for women. Now in its eighth year, the nonprofit
organization “Attitudes and Attire,” which provides jobseekers with training,
advice, referrals, and clothing, is going strong. More than 1,000 women will
participate this year alone. And as economic uncertainty and the trend toward
downsizing government assistance continues, it's likely that many more women
seeking employment will be looking to innovators like Christiana for guidance.
